Chicago, Illinois — The Women’s Major League Indoor Soccer (WMLIS) delivered a packed and high-scoring weekend, with nine matches played across Saturday and Sunday. Phoenix set the tone with three dominant victories, while Salt Lake City and Las Vegas each secured two wins. New Jersey and Chicago also found the win column as teams jockeyed for position during a busy slate of action.

Saturday’s Matches
New Jersey vs. Las Vegas
Feb. 7
Las Vegas opened the weekend with a 3–0 shutout of New Jersey, breaking the match open in the second half. Baylie Saunders scored midway through the second period, Chelsey Nicol added an early third-period goal, and Melinda Bravo sealed the win with a shorthanded finish in the fourth.
Albuquerque vs. Las Vegas
Feb. 7
Las Vegas stayed perfect on the day with a 4–0 win over Albuquerque, controlling play from start to finish and outshooting their opponent 32–14. Bravo powered the offense with a hat trick, scoring in the first, third (power play), and fourth periods, while Geraldi Gomez added the final goal.
Albuquerque vs. Phoenix
Feb. 7
Phoenix erupted offensively in a 13–4 win over Albuquerque, scoring 11 goals across the first two periods while holding a commanding 45–12 edge in shots. Justyse Smith led the attack with four goals. Albuquerque was paced by Deirdre Bia, who recorded a hat trick, including two goals in the fourth period.
New Jersey vs. Phoenix
Feb. 7
Phoenix continued its dominance with a 9–2 victory over New Jersey. A 5–0 halftime lead set the tone, and Phoenix never let up. Jessica Raybe recorded a hat trick, while New Jersey found the net through Melanie Cunha in the third period and Jacquelyn Gnassi in the fourth.
Chicago vs. Kalamazoo
Feb. 7
Chicago pulled away late for a 7–3 win over Kalamazoo. After the match was tied 2–2 in the second period, Chicago scored five of the final six goals and outshot Kalamazoo 38–20. Kelly Collins led the way with three goals as Chicago’s depth took over down the stretch.
Sunday’s Matches
Phoenix vs. Las Vegas
Feb. 8
Phoenix delivered one of the most dominant performances of the weekend, shutting out Las Vegas 10–0. Phoenix jumped out to an 8–0 halftime lead and held a 30–11 advantage in shots. Jessica Salanic fueled the attack with five goals, while Phoenix added a shorthanded tally in the fourth to complete the wire-to-wire win.
Albuquerque vs. Salt Lake City
Feb. 8
Salt Lake City overwhelmed Albuquerque in a 16–2 victory, scoring six goals in the opening period and never slowing down. Dominique Estrada, Chelsey Campbell Sanchez and Samantha Diaz all recorded multiple goals. Albuquerque’s lone scores came late from Madeline Alhamra and Bailey Green.
New Jersey vs. Salt Lake City
Feb. 8
Salt Lake City stayed hot with a 15–3 win over New Jersey, building a sizable early lead and adding multiple goals in every period. Hannah Rose Lee Flores and Megan Hendricks each scored multiple goals. New Jersey’s offense came from Melanie Cunha, Jackie Bruno and Ashley Batista.
New Jersey vs. Albuquerque
Feb. 8
New Jersey closed the weekend on a high note with a 13–3 victory over Albuquerque. An eight-goal first half set the tone, and New Jersey maintained control throughout. Ashley Batista and Jackie Bruno each posted multi-goal performances, while Albuquerque’s scoring came from Alhamra late in regulation and again in the shootout.
