HOLLAND, Mich. – Bretton Timmer didn’t have very many chances Saturday afternoon.

When his one grand opportunity presented itself, he calmly buried it into the back of the net.

Timer, a forward from Holland High School and NCAA Division II Davenport University, drilled a penalty kick in the 66th minute and his Holland Struikrovers defense made it stand in a 1-0 Midwest Premier League victory over visiting Fort Wayne Sports Club at Mac Bay Soccer Stadium.

It marked the season opener for Holland.

Bradshaw Uhlmann, a Portage Northern High School graduate and current goalkeeper at Alma College, notched the shutout between the pipes for Holland (1-0-0, 1-0-0 Great Lakes West).
