ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Birmingham Marian knocked Rochester from the unbeatens Thursday night.

The Mustangs, ranked fourth in Division 2, upended the host Falcons 3-0 in a non-conference girls soccer game in Rochester Hills.

Rochester came into the contest ranked fourth in Division 1 and had not lost since a 1-0 shootout defeat against Rochester Adams in last year’s Division 1 district finals -- and Adams went on to capture the stature championship.

Lily Robinson brent in a cornerkick that snuck into the goal for what proved to be the game-winner for the Mustangs (11-2-1).

Clare Dauer finished off a cross from Nia Bordogna to push the lead to 2-0, while Bordogna capped the scoring in the second half with a penalty kick goal for Marian.

The Mustangs have now outscored its opposition 43-8 with eight shutouts but the win was the first this season over a Division 1 top-10 ranked squad.

Rochester slipped to 11-1-3 with the first loss of the campaign. The Falcons own a 33-10 scoring edge this season playing a rugged schedule and have added 10 clean sheets along the way.

This is the first time that Rochester was kept off the scoreboard all season.
