Women’s Major League Indoor Soccer (WMLIS) delivered an exciting slate of matches this past weekend, featuring high-powered offenses and standout individual performances across the league.

Chicago, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Ft. Wayne each secured victories in an action-packed weekend.

Here’s the full recap:

Chicago 11, Kalamazoo 4

Saturday, February 14

Chicago broke open a tight contest in the second quarter and powered its way to an 11–4 win over Kalamazoo.

After a 3–3 first-quarter tie, Chicago’s offense found another gear behind Kelly Flores, who recorded four goals, including two in the opening quarter. Stephanie Nunez added two goals and three assists, while Shannon Walter, Kelly Collins, America Navarro and Kaley Kowal each contributed multiple goals to fuel the surge.

Kalamazoo received goals from Brenna Musser, Sara Bruns, Morgan Hadaway and Nikki Page to keep pace early, but Chicago’s depth and a commanding 49–16 shot advantage proved decisive.

Phoenix 9, Las Vegas 4

Saturday, February 14

Phoenix used a strong second half to pull away for a 9–4 victory over Las Vegas.

Jessica Salanic led the way with two goals, while Lacey Perdomo, Aly Moon, Mia Rose Daly, Cassie Hale and Katrina Wetherell each added a goal in a balanced scoring effort.

Las Vegas remained competitive behind Baylie Saunders and Jazmin Martinez, who combined for three goals, with Eyker Millan adding another. Despite solid stretches of play, Phoenix’s depth and consistent production through the middle quarters secured control of the match.

Salt Lake City 16, Las Vegas 3

Sunday, February 15

Salt Lake City delivered a dominant performance, defeating Las Vegas 16–3 at home.

Salt Lake City jumped out to a 5–0 lead in the first quarter and exploded for nine goals in the second. McKenzie Evans-Tostado, Amber Tripp, Megan Hendricks, Samantha Diaz and Hannah Rose Lee Flores all recorded multiple goals or assists in the commanding win. Estrada and Olivia Midgley also added multi-goal performances as the offense continued to click.

Las Vegas found the net in the third quarter through Allyssa Hovak and Geraldi Gomez, with Cassandra Tolton adding a fourth-quarter goal, but Salt Lake City’s scoring depth proved overwhelming.

Ft. Wayne 6, Kalamazoo 3

Sunday, February 15

Ft. Wayne controlled the opening three quarters to secure a 6–3 home victory over Kalamazoo.

Leena Thomas scored twice, while Vivian Purmonen netted a pair of early goals. Leila Mojtahedi and Natalia Lima also found the net as Ft. Wayne built a 6–0 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Kalamazoo mounted a late push with fourth-quarter goals from Brenna Musser and Jayelyn Vanvolkinburg, who scored twice, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome. Both teams finished with 16 shots, with Ft. Wayne capitalizing efficiently during the opening periods.
