STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A long drought has come to an end.

Sterling Heights Stevenson clinched its first league title in girls soccer Monday night since 2005 when the Titans captured the Macomb Area Conference-White Division with a 5-0 shutout of visiting St. Clair Shores Shores Lakeview.

The league title snapped a 20-year gap between conference crowns, as Stevenson captured the MAC-Red back in 2005. They hadn’t enjoyed a league championship or co-championship ever since until 2025.

Stevenson improved to 13-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in MAC-White Division play with one league game remaining. The Titans have 28 points with the next closest competitor, Utica, back in second place with 20 points.

Stevenson was led by Presley Jones who scored two goals, as the senior and Lawrence Tech-signee now has a team-best  21 on the season. She registered an assist  for good measure

Laila Martin also recorded the brace with an assist, giving the junior 11 goals on the campaign.

Freshmen Aleah Martin scored her first of the season while Isabelle Reda picked up two assists.

Diana Marku registered her seventh shutout of the year with stellar play in front of her by Maria Micakaj and Chloe Nissan.

Stevenson, which finished fifth in the MAC-White as recently as two years ago, has outscored its opposition 46-19 this season with nine total clean sheets as a team. The Titans have averaged 2.71 goals-per-game offensively while defensively they have posted a team goals-against-average of 1.12.
