MWPL: Kostoglanis, Resch shine as Lansing Common cruise past Ypsilanti AFC

LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Common FC used the full 45 minutes of each half to heat up.
The Robins scored twice in the final 12 minutes of the first half and tacked on five more goals in the final 23 minutes of the second half Saturday to down Ypsilanti AFC 7-0 in Midwest Premier League-Great Lakes West Division play at Lansing Eastern High School.
Coming off the bench, forward Mikey Kostoglanis (Vardar MLS Next Academy/Michigan State) netted the hat trick to lead Lansing Common. Owen Resch (Lansing Christian/Messiah University) added the brace as the Robins pulled away late.
Resch tallied in the 33rd minute and Ali Ahmad (Lansing Everett/Spring Arbor) sent one home in the 38th minute as Lansing Common led 2-0 at the break.
Resch recorded the brace when he notched his second goal in the 67th minute that gave his side a 3-0 advantage. Kostoglanis scored his goals in the 78th, 80th and 89th minutes sandwiched around a tally by Elijah Maas (Wayland Union/Grand Rapids Community College).
Brooks Boersma (Haslett/Michigan Wolves/Butler University) recorded the clean sheet under the framework for the Robins (1-0-0).
