NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. — Nationals Soccer Club announced last week the formation of Nationals Anchor Bay, a new collaboration with Thundercats Soccer launching ahead of the 2025-2026 youth club season.

This partnership brings together the proud local tradition of Thundercats Soccer with the proven platform, resources, and player development pathway of Nationals Soccer — one of Michigan’s most competitive and respected youth soccer organizations.

The formation of Nationals Anchor Bay reflects a shared commitment by both Nationals and Thundercats to provide players and families with an exceptional soccer experience — rooted in the trusted coaches and community relationships that Thundercats families know and value, now strengthened by the experience and resources of Nationals Soccer. Through this collaboration, players will benefit from broader league access, additional support, and expanded opportunities for growth and success — both on and off the field.

Nationals Anchor Bay will carry forward this combined vision, dedicated to delivering high-quality programming and investing in the continued development of players at every level.

“The launch of Nationals Anchor Bay reflects our shared commitment to honoring the history and relationships that Thundercats Soccer has built, while expanding opportunities for players and families in this community,” said Jeremy Harkins, partner in the Nationals leadership group. “Together, we’re excited to build on that strong foundation and provide the next level of support and development for players in the Anchor Bay area.”

This next step comes after thoughtful reflection and planning by the leadership of both organizations, focused on how to best support players’ long-term growth and success.

“Thundercats has been at the heart of this soccer community for the past 12 years, and that pride runs deep for all of us,” said John Sikorski, Owner of Thundercats Soccer. “This next step allows us to build on that foundation by providing even more for our players — more opportunity, stronger programming, and expanded pathways to help them grow, develop, and succeed at every level of the game. Joining Nationals Soccer gives our families access to the resources and support that will make a real difference in their soccer journey.”

Nationals Anchor Bay will officially begin operations with tryouts for the 2025-2026 season, offering programming across all age levels and stages of development, from grassroots to premier-level teams.

Previously, Thundercats Soccer pulled heavily from northern Macomb County and into St. Clair County as well, including New Baltimore, Chesterfield Township., Macomb Township, Algonac, Marine City, St. Clair, Marysville and several other small communities and townships in that general area.

The Nationals now have 16 different branches across Michigan and Ontario.

Additional details regarding tryouts, registration, and programming will be shared in the coming weeks.
