SAGINAW TWP., Mich. – It all boils down to this.
The Michigan State Youth Soccer Association State Cup Finals are this weekend (May 31-June 1) at the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex west of Saginaw, Michigan. There are boys soccer state cup title matches being played in the middle school and high school divisions (U-13–U-19) and girls soccer middle school divisions (U-13).
Games will be contested in the Boys-Premier, Boys-Elite, Girls-Premier and Girls-Elite divisions.
High school-aged girls soccer state cup finals were held last October (U14-U19) at the Legacy Center near Brighton, Michigan, as most of those athletes compete for their respective high school teams during the months of March through early June.
Teams ventured through their regular seasons this winter and spring before competing in Group State-Pool Play and then Bracket Play in the state tournament’s Round of 16, Quarterfinals and State Semifinals earlier this month before making their way to the state finals weekend.
Winners will receive an automatic bid to the U.S. Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Tournament to be held later this summer in the Kansas City region. That regional tournament will take place June 20-25 at both the Scheels Overland Park and Gramin Soccer Complex.
