WPSL: Ramirez’s late tally helps Hattiesburg draw even with Mississippi Blues in 3-3 stalemate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Ana Ramirez scored twice and assisted on another goal as Hattiesburg played to a 3-3 draw with visiting Mississippi Blues on Tuesday night in WPSL-South Gulf Conference Delta Basin Division action.
Mississippi Blues took an early lead on a penalty kick converted by Kennedy Walker in the 10th minute, but Hattiesburg answered with goals from Ramirez and Grace Holloway in the 24th and 38th minutes to take a 2-1 lead before halftime.
Walker struck again on a bending free kick to tie the match in the 60th minute for Mississippi, and then assisted Lila Morgan on a goal to put the Blues ahead 3-2 in the 73rd minute.
With time winding down, Ramirez and Holloway connected again, as Ramirez netted the equalizer in the 87th minute to cap a back-and-forth battle.
Goalkeeper Jordan Taylor made three saves for Hattiesburg (0-1-1), while Bennett stopped six shots for the Blues (0-0-1).
Hattiesburg held a 14-9 overall shots advantage in the contest, including 9-6 with shots on goal, and even held a 6-2 edge off cornerkicks.
