WPSL: Anderson’s 73rd minute goal lifts Utah Avalanche past La Roca FC

PLEASANT VIEW, Utah – Oakley Anderson stepped up to the penalty spot and calmly sent home her shot in the back of the net.
The 73rd minute goal proved to be the game-winner for the Utah Avalanche as they prevailed 2-1 over the La Roca FC in the WPSL-Wasatch Division play at Pleasant View Weber High School.
The Utah Avalanche (2-0-0) took a 1-0 lead in just the 11th minute when Sadie Beardall scored an unassisted goal.
The lead stood until the 61st minute when Kylie Olsen netted an equalizer for La Roca FC (1-1-0).
Summer Sofonia gained the win under the framework for the Avalanche, as she snared four saves in the victory. Utah holds a 6-2 scoring edge this season.
La Roca FC has a 5-2 edge on the scoreboard this season, although both goals were conceded in this game.
La Roca FC held a 13-8 overall shots edge in the contest, but both teams registered five shots on frame. La Roca held a 6-5 edge off cornerkicks.
