THE LEAGUE FOR CLUBS: San Ramon slips past Rush Silicon Valley; North Coast, Fuego U23 battle to stalemate

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Armen Mogharei came through in the clutch Saturday night.
And in the waning minutes – literally.
The San Ramon FC forward scored four minutes into stoppage time to life San Ramon to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Rush Silicon Valley in the League For Clubs-NorCal Conference play at San Jose Oak Grove High School.
San Ramon led 2-0 before Rush Silicon Valley scored back-to-back goals in the 83rd and 85th minutes to tie the score. Khalid Arramdani and Manuel Garcia scored in succession to tie the game.
Michael Diaz-Torrez staked San Ramon to a 1-0 lead at the half thanks to a 22nd minute tally. Mogharei pushed the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 72nd minute, which set up a wild finish to the game.
Romello Fulcher earned the win between the pipes for San Ramon FC (5-2-1), which owns a 25-18 scoring edge this season and improved to 5-2-1 overall to move into fifth place in the NorCal 16 points.
Rush Silicon Valley slipped into ninth place at 2-6-0 for six points.
NORTH COAST FC SOL 1, FUEGO U23 1: At the Petaluma Community Sports Complex, these two NorCal Conference teams battled to a 1-1 draw Saturday night.
Ivan Barba scored for North Coast FC Sol, which improved to 0-5-1 overall and gained its first point of the season. The team has been outscored 19-5. Martin Cortez made six saves for North Coast.
Ernesto Aguilera scored for Fuego U23 (5-2-2), which improved to 17 points to sit in fourth place in the NorCal Conference. Eddie Veliz made six stops for Fuego U23, which has outscored its opposition 31-14 this season.
