THE LEAGUE FOR CLUBS: Oklahoma 1889 pulls away from Union KC; FC Wichita doubles up Tulsa Athletic

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Leading 2-1 late Saturday, Oklahoma 1889 FC was able to add on a late insurance tally in recording a 3-1 victory over Union KC in The League For Clubs-Mid-American Conference play.
Shonosuke Suzuki tallied in the 87th minute to open up a two-goal advantage at 3-1 and Oklahoma City held on from there down the stretch.
Aidan Santos scored in the 22nd minute and Teejay Chiorodo added a goal in the the 74th minute to put 1889 up to 2-0.
Union KC gained one back in the 78th minute on a goal by Keegan Ranney to trim the deficit down to 2-1. Union KC could not gain an equalizer before giving up the third goal late in regulation.
FC WICHITA 4, TULSA ATHLETIC 2: FC Wichita doubled up Tulsa Athletic in this game Saturday at Stryker Sports Complex.
It marked the season opener for FC Wichita (1-0-0).
Tulsa Athletic (0-2-0) remained winless in the Mid-American Conference.
