PENSACOLA, Fla. – Bruno Marques scored three goals in the first 14 minutes Saturday night to set the tone.
His offensive outburst helped host Pensacola FC roll over visiting Valdosta FC 9-0 in the League For Clubs-Gulf Coast Conference play at Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex.
Marques finished with four goals in the route, tallying in the second, ninth, 14th and 29th minutes for Pensacola FC, which led 7-0 at the half before scoring two more after halftime.
Josiah Fontenot added two goals in the 37th and 57th minutes and for good measure also registered an assist.
Rodrigo Bacci, Marcus Pereira and Kenta Yagi each scored one goal, while Mohammed Alshabot, Eduardo Pampolini and Kendrick Hernandez all registered two assists apiece in contest.
Gabriel Mendoza notched the shutout on a pair of saves for Pensacola FC, which has two clean sheets and a 13-0 scoring edge this season.
Valdosta FC has struggled out of the gate with an 0-3-0 record and have been outscored 18-2.
