WPSL: FC Davis cruises past San Ramon

SAN RAMON, Calif. – Not bad for an opener.
FC Davis opened up the season Tuesday with a convincing 5-1 victory over host San Ramon FC in WPSL-West NorCal Division play at Tiffany Roberts Sports Field.
FC Davis scored twice in the first half and tacked on three more goals in the second half to prevail.
Tiffany Miras converted a penalty kick goal in the 19th minute for the 1-0 lead and FC Davis dominated for long stretches.
Isabella Vinsonhaler pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 39th minute as the side built its two-goal lead by the half.
After halftime, Marlena Louis (65th), Genavieve Fontes (75th) and Viet-Thy Tran (80th) tacked on second-half goals.
Jaidyn Fuijii gained the win in goal.
Hayley Hamilton spoiled the shutout in the 83rd minute with the late goal for San Ramon FC (0-1-0).
