PONTIAC, Mich. – FC Dayton waited until the waning moments to strike gold Sunday night.
Dayton scored goals in the 73rd and then again three minutes into stoppage time (90+3) in recording a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Corktown WFC in WPSL Great River Division action at Pontiac Wisner Stadium.
Kiley Reese tied the game in the 73rd minute off a pass from Aya Saiki and then Saiki came through in the clutch with the game-winning goal at the end of the contest for FC Dayton (1-1-1), which has been outscored 6-4 this season.
Mia Thomson (Dearborn Divine Child / Northwood University) staked Corktown to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 57th minute, but Corktown (0-2-1) couldn’t build on the momentum. The side has been outscored 7-2 in three matches this season.
