WILLIAMSTON, Mich. — After reaching the Division 3 state semifinals last fall, Williamston High School boys soccer enters the 2025 season with its eyes set on another deep postseason push.

The Hornets finished 12-8-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play in 2024, placing third in league standings.

Their playoff run ended with a hard-fought loss to eventual state champion Notre Dame Preparatory in the semifinals.

Despite graduating a strong senior class, head coach Ian Kurth believes this year’s squad has the balance and experience to remain competitive in both conference and postseason play. Senior leaders such as Luca Terry and Luke Niederquell are expected to anchor the group, while rising talent looks to step into expanded roles.

“Our team expects to compete within our conference despite graduating a strong class of seniors from our 2024 team,” kurth said. “Expectations are to be competing for District and Regional titles in 2025.”

With a mix of proven returners and motivated newcomers, Williamston is eager to build on last year’s success. The Hornets will look to stay among the Division 3 contenders as they chase another deep tournament run.
