FLINT, Mich. – These pair of signings could prove to be twice as nice.

The Flint City Bucks signed twins Sekou Agard and Kadeem Agard from Mercer University for the upcoming USL League Two  season, pending league and federation approval.

The brothers have played together at all levels and will now bring their twin talents to Kettering University’s iconic Atwood Stadium. Hailing from Snellville, Georgia, the brothers headlined Mercer's recruiting class for the fall 2021 season and, as juniors, both were key to the Bears’ Southern Conference tournament championship in 2023.  (Kadeem was Georgia Gatorade Boys Soccer Player of the Year in 2021).

Primarily a right-sided center back with ability to play along the entire back line, Sekou Agard has lined up alongside Flint City fan-favorite center back Woodi Pondeca.

In the fall, Sekou Agard exploded for five goals — tied for the Mercer team lead. He now has nine goals and two assists for his college career. Anchoring a back line that held nine sides scoreless, he was named to the Southern Conference first team for the second year in a row.  In the 2023 SoCon Tournament Sekou was named the Most Outstanding Player and also earned recognition as part of the United Soccer Coaches regional third team. He has led the Bears in minutes played for three consecutive years.

Kadeem Agard as been a consistent scoring threat since arriving at Mercer, amassing 15 goals and 12 assists over four seasons as a locked-on starter. In 2024, he netted the Bears’ first hat trick since 2021, earning Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week honors. He totaled four goals and two assists.

His biggest impact was felt in his 2022 sophomore season, when his five goals and five assists garnered inclusion to the All-Southern Conference Second Team. Kadeem Agard was on the Southern Conference All-Freshman team in 2021, when he immediately raced to third on the team with 14 total points (five goals and four assists).
