PHILADELPHIA – Impressive.
Most impressive.
FC Monmouth opened up The League For Clubs-Northeast Conference play with a fine all-around effort in blanking Lighthouse Boys club 6-0 at the Lighthouse Sports Complex.
Lenny Aviles recorded the hat trick to pace the Monmouth offense.
Aviles scored goals in the 20th, 45th and 58th minutes to aid a 5-0 start. Nathaniel Anevski scored in just the second minute to give his side the early 1-0 advantage – and that goal proved to be the eventual game-winning tally.
Daviade Caputo (31st minute) and Andrew Araya (74th minute) also scored for FC Monmouth (1-0-0, 1-0-0).
It was the season opener for both teams.
