Southfield Christian Looks to Climb in MIAC Red
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — The Southfield Christian Eagles enter the 2025 season determined to take a big step forward after showing flashes of promise last fall. The Eagles finished 6-11-1 in 2024, placing second in the MIAC Red Division before falling to Bishop Foley in the pre-district round.
Key Returners
Southfield Christian brings back an experienced group, highlighted by players ready to make an impact:
Christopher (Trey) Ehlen – Midfield: A standout playmaker in the No. 10 role, Ehlen is expected to be the focal point of the attack. Now a junior, he has embraced leadership and is poised for a breakout season.
Liam Baligian – Midfield: Adds energy and consistency in the middle of the field.
Trevor Groh – Forward: Brings pace and scoring ability up top.
Tavin Banker – Midfield: A key contributor in linking play between defense and attack.
Matthew Abazi – Defender: Solid presence on the back line.
AJ Crumbey – Goalkeeper: Reliable in net and expected to anchor the defense.
Jonathan Vasser – Midfield: Provides additional depth and creativity in the midfield.
Outlook
The Eagles set a realistic target of finishing above .500 with a goal of at least 10–8, but the program also believes a 14-win season is within reach if the group plays to its potential. With Trey Ehlen leading the charge as the team’s creative engine, Southfield Christian expects to compete for a conference title and make a deeper postseason push.
