PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC announced that Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2, the club’s men’s second team, will compete in USL League Two beginning with the 2026 season.

The addition of Riverhounds 2 to League Two expands the club’s player development pathway, providing more opportunities for amateur players to compete at a high level while progressing toward the professional ranks. The league serves as a bridge for players moving from academy and college soccer into senior competition.

“Riverhounds 2 plays an important role in our player development structure, and competing in USL League Two allows us to take the next step in strengthening that pathway,” Sporting Director Dan Visser said. “USL League Two provides meaningful competition while aligning with our long-term vision for developing professional players.”

USL League Two is the nation’s top pre-professional league, featuring more than 140 teams across 37 states. Hundreds of former League Two players have gone on to compete professionally in the United States and abroad.

Riverhounds 2 is scheduled to begin play in May and will compete in the league’s Central Conference. Additional details regarding divisions and scheduling will be announced ahead of the 2026 season.
