AUSTIN, Texas – Diego Rubio’s 93rd-minute equalizer earned Austin FC a point in a 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night at Q2 Stadium.
Brandon Vazquez hit the crossbar in the 22nd minute with a headed chance which Osman Bukari created from the right flank. Jon Gallagher then forced RSL goalkeeper Rafael Cabral to make a close-range save later in the first half.

In response to going behind, Austin pushed several players forward and were rewarded in stoppage time. Rubio headed in a pinpoint cross from Žan Kolmanič to ensure that Austin FC avoided defeat.
