HOLLAND, Mich. – South Haven maintained its position atop of the Southwestern Athletic Conference-Lakeshore Division courtesy of a 1-0 victory over host Holland Black River Academy Monday night.

South Haven improved to 9-6-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the SAC-Lakeshore Division.

The game’s lone goal came in the first half, when junior midfielder Ava Martinez slipped a shot into the goal in the 27th minute, capitalizing on a defensive miscue just outside the box.

Senior goalkeeper Emma Langley made six saves to preserve the shutout, the Rams’ eighth clean sheet of the season.

Goalkeeper Zoe Palmer recorded four saves in the loss for Holland Black River (5-6-2, 3-2-1), which dropped into fourth place.

South Haven has now outscored the opposition 47-21 this season.

SAUGATUCK 2, BRIDGMAN 0: Saugatuck notched its ninth shutout of the season and picked up a goal in each half in recording the Southwestern Athletic Conference-Lakeshore Division win over visiting Bridgman.

Neave Rawa scored off a pass from Ava Tringali for a 1-0 lead at the half, while Mariela Garcia finished off a cross from Rewa in the second half to cap the scoring.

Saugatuck holds a 32-11 scoring edge this season. The Trailblazers clinched no worse than second place in the league with the win.

KALAMAZOO CHRISTIAN 3, KALAMAZOO HACKETT CATHOLIC PREP 0: Kalamazoo Christian is peaking at the right time.

The Division 4 state-ranked Comets captured their third straight win Monday and 10th victory in their last 11 games with a 3-0 win over visiting Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Prep in Southwestern Athletic Conference-Valley Division play.

Kalamazoo Christian maintained its position atop of the eight-school standings in the SAC-Valley Division with the win. The Comets improved to 11-4-1 overall and 6-0-0 in the league – and clinched at least a tie for the league crown with the win.

Kalamazoo Hackett slipped to 10-5-0 overall and 6-1-0 in league play. Kalamazoo Christian has one more league game and can clinch the title outright with a home win Wednesday over Delton-Kellogg.

Although Hackett has seven shutouts this season, this loss marks the fourth time the Irish have been shut out this year. Hackett Catholic Prep has a 59-24 scoring edge this season.

Dating back to 2023, Kalamazoo Christian has made deep runs to the Division 4 state finals 10 times, going 5-5 in those state championship matches.
