HARTLAND, Mich. – Hartland picked up right where it left off in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association-West Division a year ago.
The Eagles opened up league play Friday with a 4-2 decision over Salem.
Addie Frantti finished with two goals and an assist to pace Hartland (3-2-0, 1-0-0). Gracie Kastamo scored the other two goals for the Eagles, which have outscored their opposition 13-8 so far this season.
Another quality class graduated in 2024 from the Division 1 state runner-up team. The Eagles were also the D-1 state champs just four years ago in 2021. A small handful of players competed on both of those teams.
Hartland finished 16-4-3 overall last season playing a tough league and non-conference schedule. In the KLAA-West, the Eagles finished 10-1-3 but they lost in the KLAA Tournament finals to KLAA-East Division champion Livonia Stevenson.
Hartland outscored the opposition 60-23 last season with nine shutouts and only four shutouts against – the last one came in a 2-0 defeat to Rochester Adams in the D-1 state finals.
Hartland should join Brighton, Northville, Salem, Canton and Plymouth for the top spots in the KLAA-West this season.
