WPSL: Reading United melts away Hersey FC with 5-0 offensive outburst

READING, Pa. – You talk about a fast start.
Reading United AC scored a goal in the first minute to set the tone and melted away Hershey FC 5-0 in a WPSL-Commonwealth Division clash at Alvernia University.
Reading United (1-0-0) scored on its first shot of the season and led 3-0 at the half. Reading added two second-half tallies to put the game away.
It was the foot of Rebecca Kotula that put Reading United in the driver’s seat as she finished off a feed from Anna Buckwater.
Reading didn’t score again until the 29th minute when Haley Gschrey netted her first of two goals on the night following a cross from Ava Sailee. Olivia Thompson upped the lead to 3-0 with a 30th-minute goal off another pass from Buckwater.
Ashley Lavrich got involved in the scoring act with an unassisted goal in the 64th minute, while Lavrich set the table for some more chocolate treats as Gschrey netted the brace with a late goal in the 88th minute which capped the scoring.
Sarah Gatz recorded the clean sheet on four saves for Reading United AC.
