Washington punched its ticket to the National Championship on Friday evening, earning a commanding 3–1 win over Furman in the College Cup semifinal. The victory sends the Huskies to their second title match in the last five years as they improve to 15-6-2 on the season.

The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute, when Zach Ramsey slotted home a feed from Alex Hall for his seventh goal of the year. Hall picked up his eighth assist on the play.

Just eight minutes later, Charlie Kosakoff doubled the lead with what proved to be the game-winner. A long ball from Asher Hestad forced a misplayed header from a Furman defender, allowing Kosakoff to collect, evade the backline, round the keeper, and bury his 11th goal of the season.

Washington carried its two-goal lead into halftime and continued its dominance in the second half, firing another 12 shots while keeping the Paladins without momentum.

In the 86th minute, Hestad added the insurance tally — the sophomore defender stepping into a pass from Kosakoff and ripping a powerful strike into the top of the net for his second career goal.

Furman pulled one back a minute later, but Washington calmly saw out the remaining time to secure another victory over a ranked opponent.

Jadon Bowton, Harrison Bertos, Egor Akulov, Connor Lofy, and Gabe Fernandez each logged a full 90 minutes, while Alex Hall, Nick O’Brien, and Zack Meier contributed off the bench. Kosakoff led the squad with seven shots in 86 minutes.

Washington advances to face NC State in the College Cup Final on Monday, December 15 at 4 p.m. PT.
