Virginia Holds No. 1 as Week Six NCAA Women’s Rankings See Major Movement

The University of Virginia continues to reign atop the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I women’s soccer rankings, holding steady at No. 1 for the third straight week. The Cavaliers (9-0-1) earned all eight first-place votes and 200 points to stay perfect in the poll.


Irish Keep the Pressure On

Notre Dame (9-0-1) remained at No. 2, trailing only Virginia with 192 points. Stanford (9-1-1) stayed firm at No. 3, while UCLA (8-2-1) and Tennessee (9-1-1) rounded out the top five, both holding their positions from last week. Florida State (7-0-2) continues its unbeaten start, sitting at No. 6.


TCU Surges Into the Top 10

The week’s biggest mover at the top was TCU (9-1-0), climbing from No. 10 into a tie for No. 7 with Arkansas (6-2-2). Memphis (9-0-2) also surged, breaking into the top 10 at No. 9 after an unbeaten run.

Iowa (8-2-2) slipped from No. 8 to a tie for No. 10, joining South Carolina (9-1-2), which rose from No. 12.


Wake Forest Headlines Climbers

Wake Forest (9-1-2) made the week’s biggest jump, soaring from No. 19 to No. 12. Mississippi State (8-1-1) rose to No. 13, while Georgetown (7-2-2) leapt from No. 21 to No. 15.

Michigan State (6-2-4) cracked the poll at No. 16, making its season debut. Texas Tech (8-1-1) followed at No. 18 after receiving votes a week ago, while Baylor (7-1-2) also entered at No. 20. Louisville (10-2-0) completed the group of new entrants, checking in at No. 23.


Notable Fallers

Duke (6-3-1) slipped five places to No. 14. Iowa dropped two spots, while Wisconsin fell from No. 20 to No. 24. Vanderbilt took the hardest fall, dropping 11 spots from No. 13 to No. 24 after back-to-back losses.
