CHICAGO – Angel City FC defender Gisele Thompson will replace Gotham FC defender Tierna Davidson on the U.S. Women’s National Team training camp roster.
The USWNT has upcoming matches against Brazil on Saturday, April 5 (2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET on TNT, truTv, Max, Universo & Peacock) and at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif., on Tuesday, April 8 (7:30 p.m. PT / 10:30 p.m. ET on TBS, Max, Universo & Peacock).
Davidson suffered a knee injury at the end of the first half of Gotham FC’s match vs. the Washington Spirit last Friday night.
Thompson, 19, was originally slated to attend to the U.S. Under-23 WNT training camp taking place concurrently this week with the U.S. WNT training camp at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., but with her elevation to the senior team roster, 19-year-old Portland Thorns midfielder Olivia Moultrie will take her place with the U-23s.
Thompson earned her second USWNT call-up and first two senior team caps during the 2025 SheBelieves Cup where she played against Colombia (off the bench) and Australia (her first career start, which came alongside older sister Alyssa). She joins Alyssa on the USWNT roster for the second consecutive training camp. The Thompson sisters hail from Studio City, Calif., which is about 25 miles from SoFi Stadium.
