USL SUPER LEAGUE: Dallas Trinity FC, Fort Lauderdale draw even

DALLAS — Dallas Trinity FC and Fort Lauderdale United FC played to a 1-1 draw Saturday at the Cotton Bowl. Dallas remains in second place in the USL Super League standings.


Dallas (10-6-7, 37 points) opened the scoring in the third minute through forward Allie Thornton, who netted her 10th goal of the season off a deflected pass from Tamara Bolt. 


Fort Lauderdale (9-6-7, 34 points) found the equalizer in the 35th minute, but Dallas’ defense held firm in the second half, earning the home side a point.


Dallas Trinity FC have now outscored the opposition 35-23 this season and sit in second place in the USL Super League. Dallas holds a 1-1-1 record against Fort Lauderdale this season. The team previously won 1-0 on Nov. 2 and lost 2-1 on Dec. 1.


The Trinity are 5-2-5 at home this season.


Dallas outshot Fort Lauderdale 18-14 and registered four shots on target.


FIRST TO 10

Forward Allie Thornton continued her standout season by becoming the first player in USL Super League history to reach double-digit goals. The Arlington native and SMU alum now leads the league with 10 goals, ahead of Fort Lauderdale’s Addie McCain and Carolina’s Mia Corbin.

Dallas Trinity FC players and staff, alongside members of the U.S. Deaf National Soccer Team, hosted clinics Saturday for children with disabilities — reinforcing the club’s mission to make soccer accessible for all. Trip Neil, Dallas Trinity FC founder, COO, and U.S. Deaf National Team member, led the initiative, which included a pre-match panel on disability advocacy, inclusive environments, and future goals.

Dallas Trinity FC will remain at home to host Lexington SC (4-14-5, 17 points) on Saturday, April 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at the Cotton Bowl. All matches stream live on Peacock.
