THE LEAGUE FOR CLUBS: FC Davis remains perfect; Iron Rose FC gains first-ever victory

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – FC Davis scored a first-half goal and added two more second half tallies in recording a 3-0 victory Saturday over Albion SC Silicon Valley in The League For Clubs-NorCal Conference play.


Elijah Alba scored what proved to be the game winner in just the 10th minute for FC Davis (5-0-0, 5-0-0). 


Aiden Albertalli added an insurance goal in the 51st minute to make it 2-0 and then Lucas Fernandez-Kim netted the third goal in a game played at Red Morton Park in Redwood City, Calif.


Leonardo Hoppe made five saves for the shutout for FC Davis, which has now outscored the opposition 16-5 this season.


FC Davis leads the league with 15 points through five games, while the club is second in goal differential at plus-11. Napa Valley 1839 FC has a 17-4 scoring edge and is in second place with 12 points.


IRON ROSE FC 3, RUSH SILICON VALLEY 1: The first victory is in the book s for brand new franchise  Iron Rose FC.


IRFC built a 1-0 lead at the break and led by three goals in the 60th minute Saturday to topple Rush Silicon Valley in the The League For Clubs-NorCal Conference contest.


Diego Nunez scored the first goal in the ninth minute for Iron Rose. Roberto Hategan pushed the lead to 2-0 with a 47th minute goal and then scored again on a penalty kick in the 60th minute for the winner.


Khalid Arramdani scored in the 85th minute for Rush Silicon Valley (1-2-0, 1-2-0).


OAKLAND SC 6, CF SAN RAFAEL 2: Oakland moved to 2-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the NorCal Conference with this win Saturday at Novato (Calif.) High School.

 

Oakland owns a 13-5 scoring edge (plus-eight) and is tied in fourth in the NorCal Conference with seven points.


YUBA FC 6, BAY VALLEY SUNS 2: Luiz Martinez scored three goals and added two assists, getting a foot in five of the six goals, as Yuba FC cruised to the The League For Clubs-NorCal Conference win.


Martinez assisted on the first goal by Jorge Negrete in the 15th minute then added goals in the 20th and 37th minutes for Yuba FC (2-1-1, 2-1-1). Tekodah Lobsiger and Martin Vasquez assisted on the second and third goals respectively.


Guty Aguilar notched the fourth goal in the 59th minute, courtesy of a Martinez feed, Johnny Yang scored an unassisted goal in the 84th minute, while Martinez capped the scoring when he finished off a cross from Eli Bussey in the 89th minute.


“We once again dominated the game but unlike last week we were able to finish our chances,” said Yuba FC coach Pete Afato. We were able to penetrate their defense and played some amazing football.


“Each week we have continued to grow stronger and have shown we are one of the top teams in the (NorCal) Conference,” added Afato. “Games like this really shows how hard they have been working. I am very proud of the boys”


Jared Oseguera recorded seven saves for the win in net. The Man of the Match is still a junior at Olivehurst (Calif.) Lindhurst High School.
