DES MOINES, Iowa – It’s safe to say that the Des Moines Menace responded from an early-season loss.

After dropping a 2-1 decision to Sunflower State FAC back on May 28, the Menace have reeled off four straight wins. The latest came over defending Great Plains Division champion and last year’s USL League Two runner-up Peoria City in the form of a 3-1 triumph at Des Moines Valley Stadium.

In the streak, the Des Moines Menace have posted a 21-6 scoring edge to take over the Great Plains Division lead at 6-12-0 overall and 18 points.

Against Peoria City, Enro Carvalho earned the shutout under the framework with sterling defensive play from Andrew Shaffer, Etienne Ravelli, Shuntaro Endo and Leslie Jones.

Mere Escobar scored the first goal for Des Moines in the 45th minute with Ravelli netting the eventual game-winner in the 54th minute and Dominick Bachstein chipped in with an insurance tally in the 57th minute.

Luke Persenico, one of the top goal scorers in the USL League Two, sent one home in the 64th minute for Peoria City (5-2-0)  but his side couldn't complete a comeback.

Overall this season, the Menace have outscored its opposition 30-10 for a plus-20 edge and is one of the more explosive units in the nation. The 30 team goals leads the Great Plains Division.
