SEATTLE – Making its fourth straight postseason appearance in the USL League Two Playoffs, Ballard FC is hoping to make up for last season’s disappointing finish.
Ballard FC lost in the Western Conference Quarterfinals in 2024 – one year after claiming the USL League Two North American title – and the side is trying to stick around a while in this year’s tournament.
Ballard FC won again Sunday night at Valley Stadium in Seattle, tripping up Snohomish United 2-1 in the Western Conference semifinals. The side will play the Ventura County Fusion next Friday in the conference finals.
Sean Sent scored in the ninth minute and Richard Aman netted the game-winner in the 64th minute and Ballard’s defense held on down the stretch to help the side prevail in the end.
Ballard FC, the four-time Northwest Division champions which also opened the postseason Friday with a 6-0 victory over the Colorado Storm, improved to 11-2-3 on the season. Ballard owns an 8-1 edge on the scoreboard in two tournament games and a 44-8 edge over 16 games this season, including 9-2-3 in the regular season.
Ballard FC is also making its third appearance in the conference finals next weekend, as the club lost in that round during the 2022 campaign before winning divisional, conference and national crowns in 2023.
Snohomish finishes the season 9-5-2.
