ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Napa Valley 1839 FC’s fast start to the season has also come at Iron Rose FC’s expense.

Napa Valley 1839 moved to 4-0-0 on the The League For Clubs 2025 season with a resounding 4-0 shutout Saturday at Roseville (Calif.) West Park High School.

It was the first-ever home game for Iron Rose FC and just the second game overall in the amateur soccer franchise’s history. Iron Rose has newly-constructed roster as the franchise did not exist a year ago and thus did not compete in another league in the recent past.

Napa Valley 1839 FC has been around for eight years and has entered teams in different leagues along the soccer pyramid in that span.

With the win, Napa Valley 1839 moved into a first-place tie along with FC Davis with identical 4-0-0 records and 12 total points apiece in the The League For Clubs West Region-NorCal Division one month into the TLFC inaugural campaign.

Napa Valley 1839 has outscored its opposition 17-4 for a plus-13 differential, while FC Davis holds a plus-8 differential and a 13-5 scoring edge. Napa opened with wins over Albion SC Silicon Valley (6-2), Bay Valley Suns (4-2) and Rush Silicon Valley (3-0) to go along with their 4-0 shutout Saturday against Iron Rose FC.

Napa Valley spoiled Iron Rise FC’s home opener by scoring two goals in each half Saturday and cruising to the NorCal victory. The team scored in the ninth, 20th, 53rd and 85th minutes to prevail.

Ivan Sakou scored what proved to be the eventual game winner Saturday with a ninth-minute unassisted goal. Napa Valley 1839 FC padded its lead to 2-0 when Dario Pavon sent his opportunity into the back of the net.

Iron Rose FC had two great opportunities late in the first half but could not convert. Even seasoned veteran Ryley Kraft misfired on a penalty kick opportunity in the 42nd minute.

Napa Valley 1839 FC tacked on two more insurance tallies in the second half to pull away.

Luis Ramirez blasted home a Sakou feed in the 53rd minute for a 3-0 cushion – it was Ramirez’s team-leading fifth goal of the campaign – while Ramirez set up the fourth goal in the 85th minute when he slotted the ball through traffic and Abner Urbina was in the box to tap home his shot and cap the scoring.

Jack Landreth recorded his team’s second straight shutout on the strength of five saves for Napa Valley 1839 FC.

Iron Rose FC fell into a three-way tie for 11th place in the West Region-NorCal Division. Iron Rose has been outscored 8-1 in two games and were shut out Saturday for the first time. IRFC did score a goal in a 4-1 loss in their season-opener against Fuego U23.
