THE LEAGUE FOR CLUBS: Late goals lifts FC Davis past CF San Rafael; Rush Silicon Valley, Oakland SC, Napa Valley all post wins

NOVATO, Calif. – Thanks to a pair of goals in the final 14 minutes Saturday, FC Davis was able to maintain its level of excellence. 


FC Davis scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute and added an insurance tally in the 85th minute in posting a 5-3 victory over CF San Rafael in The League For Clubs play at Novato High School.


Lucas Fernandez-Kim booted home the go-ahead goal for a 4-3 lead and then Soroush Salardi Namin netted the fifth goal in the 85th to cap the scoring for FC Davis, which moved to 7-0-0 on the season and maintained first place in the West Region-NorCal Conference.


FC Davis now owns a 25-11 scoring edge and sits atop the standings with 21 points. 


FC Davis led 3-0 after the 18th minute and looked to be in control. Sergio Marquez-Olea netted the hat trick thanks to goals in the first, eighth and 18th minutes to stake the club to its three-goal lead – a lead that was short-lived.


CF San Rafael (0-5-2) mounted a comeback before the half, as Edinelson scored in the 21st and 32nd minutes and Alan Estrada sent home the equalizer in the 36th minute to level the game at 3-3.


FC Davis outscored CF San Rafael 2-0 in the second half. 


Following the loss, CF San Rafael has been outscored 30-14 this season and remained in 12th place in the NorCal Conference.

RUSH SILICON VALLEY 5, NORTH COAST FC SOL 0: Rush earned its second win of the season and moved into eighth place in the NorCal Conference with this win Saturday at San Jose (Calif.) High School. 


Donald Rapo and Anthony Moran both scored two goals in the shutout victory. Hyago Galdino also scored for Rush Silicon Valley (2-4-0), which has been outscored 12-10 but notched its second clean sheet of the season.


North Coast FC Sol slipped to 0-4-0 on the season and has been outscored 15-3 after four games.

OAKLAND SC 5, IRON ROSE FC 3: Oakland SC took over sole possession of third place in the NorCal Conference with this win over the weekend. 


Oakland SC now has 13 points on the strength of a 4-1-1 overall record and owns a 21-8 scoring edge this season.


Iron Rose FC, a brand new program, slipped to 1-4-0 this season.

NAPA VALLEY 1839 FC 6, AFGHAN PREMIER FC 1: Napa Valley maintained pace in the NorCal Conference with this win Sunday, remaining in second place with 18 points and just three points behind FC Davis (7-0-0, 21 points).


Dario Pavlon netted the hat trick, scoring goals in the 60th, 63rd and 87th minute to lead the way. Luis Ramirez added two goals with tallies in the 14th and 79th minute, while Alvaro Carreras also scored for Napa Valley (6-0-0, 18 points). Napa Valley 1839 FC owns an impressive 27-8 scoring edge this season, averaging 4.50 goals per game while allowing around 1.34 goals a contest.


Gowir Gandizi spoiled the shutout with an 89th minute goal for Afghan Premier FC (1-4-0).

FUEGO U23 9, BAY VALLEY SUNS 1: Fuego exploded for nine goals Saturday in this NorCal Conference rout in Fremont, Calif., at the Fuego Training Center


Fuego US (5-2-0, 15 points) now owns a 29-11 scoring edge this season.


Bay Valley Suns scored for 0-4-2 this season.

ALBION SC SILICON VALLEY 2, SAN RAMON FC 0: Albion SC Silicon Valley scored a goal in each half and moved to 2-3-1 in the NorCal Conference. Albion has been outscored 14-11 this season.
