THE LEAGUE FOR CLUBS: Austin United FC opens floodgates on FC Revolution; Foro SC, RGV Red Crowns record shutouts

FORT WORTH, Texas – There are offensive outbursts on the soccer pitch at all levels from time to time.
Then there is the offensive clinic that Austin United FC laid on the FC Revolution Saturday night.
Austin United scored four goals in the first half before exploding for eight more goals after the halftime break to record a convincing 12-0 shutout of host FC Revolution at Fort Worth Polytechnic High School in The League For Clubs-Texas Conference play.
Jake Ciccarello’s shot in the sixth minute deflected off a Revolution defender and into the goal for a 1-0 advantage. That tally simply opened the floodgates as Austin United scored a league-high 12 goals in the match.
Ciccarello added a second goal in the 26th minute and United was off and running.
Noe Uwimana scored his first of two goals in the 39th minute for the 3-0 lead before Philipp Mokwa pushed the advantage to 4-0 in the 42nd minute as the visitors went into halftime with a comfortable 4-0 edge.
The Austin United offense was really firing on all cylinders in the second half, as the side poured it on with three quick goals in the 51st, 56th and 58th minutes for a 7-0 cushion before scoring five more goals between the 83rd and 90th minutes.
John Roberts netted the hat trick in the second half to lead United overall. Zeke Zambraino added two more, while Rogelio Rojas and Yanir Pena also had single tallies.
Angel Ramirez was rarely tested in goal to record the clean sheet.
Austin United FC improved to 1-0-1 this season and stand atop the nine-team Texas Conference with four points and a 13-1 scoring edge.
FC Revolution dropped to 0-2-0 and have been outscored 15-1 this season.
FORO SC 8, TYLER FC 0: Foro SC scored five goals in the first half, including three in the final five minutes at the end of first half, and added three more tallies in the second half in recording this 8-0 shutout in Texas Conference play at the Foro Sports Club..
Eric Gomez scored goals in the 26th, 40th and 56th to lead Foro SC, which moved to 1-0-1 on the season and into second place in the conference with four points and a 9-1 scoring edge.
Marcelo Pedraza added the brace with goals in the 32nd and 45th minutes, while Blaine Perri (43rd), Carlos Estrada-Ontiveros (50th) and Brayan Padilla (61st) added single goals for Foro SC.
Carlos Arconada recorded the clean sheet with just a trio of saves.
RGV RED CROWNS FC 1, CENTRAL DALLAS FC 0: Vincente Alvarez broke the stalemate with a 77th minute goal and the RGV Red Crowns defense made it stand in this narrow Texas Conference win Saturday at Harlingen Field in Harlingen, Texas.
Alvarez’s goal was unassisted and helped the Crowns remain unbeaten at 1-0-1 overall.
Juan Carlos-Alvarez recorded the shutout between the pipes for RGV Red Crowns FC.
Central Dllas FC dropped to 0-1-0 on the season. Matt Leviton was in goal for Dallas but took the loss despite the closely-contested match.
