Oxford’s Iron Wall and District Champion Leader
From the moment Camryn Budzik stepped onto a soccer field at just three years old, the game became more than an activity—it became a lifelong passion. Now a senior defensive center back at Oxford High School, Budzik has grown into one of the most reliable and dominant defenders in the district, pairing elite on-field performance with academic excellence and leadership.
A 3.8 GPA student-athlete, Budzik has been a model of consistency both in the classroom and on the pitch. She is a three-year All-Conference Academic honoree (freshman through junior years) and has earned OAA Red All-Conference honors in both her sophomore and junior seasons. Her junior year proved especially memorable, as she was named All-District First Team, Third Team Division 1 All-State, and helped lead Oxford to a District Championship—its first in 34 years. Budzik’s impact was felt every minute she was on the field—literally. She logged 1,890 minutes during the 2025 season, never missing time in any match played. During the postseason, she was recognized as the Top Defender (#1) in the district for the 2025 playoffs, anchoring a defense that thrived under pressure.
“Soccer has been my passion since I first stepped onto the field,” Budzik said. “Since then, my sights have been set on one goal: competing at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree in medicine. I’m driven by the discipline required both in the classroom and on the field, and I truly value the lifelong relationships I’ve built with my club and high school teammates.”
As a senior, Budzik has embraced the responsibility of leadership, setting the tone through effort, accountability, and intensity.
“My primary focus is leading this team by example and pushing us toward a State Championship,” she added. “There’s no better feeling than getting lost in the flow of a match, imposing my will on the opposition, and doing whatever it takes to help my team succeed.”
That leadership has not gone unnoticed.
“It has been truly amazing to watch Camryn’s transformation from a three-year-old who complained about the heat and running into the athlete she is today,” a coach shared. “Beyond her physical drive, she has developed into a natural leader who commands the field by example. She genuinely loves the grind and the camaraderie of the game, and that passion shows every day.”

At the club level, Budzik competes with Nationals, continuing to sharpen her game against high-level competition. Her hard work and dedication have paid off, as she is committed to Wayne State University in Detroit, where she will continue her soccer career while pursuing her academic goals in medicine.
As Camryn Budzik prepares for the next chapter, one thing is clear: her relentless work ethic, loyalty to her teammates, and competitive fire will translate seamlessly to the collegiate level—both on the field and beyond it.
