Battery Blasts Kicker 4-0 in USL Cup Match
Four different players scored for the Charleston Battery as they climbed to the top of the Prinx Tires USL Cup Group F standings with 4-0 win over the Richmond Kickers. At a meeting of the two longest-running professional soccer teams in the US, the Battery saw goals from Langston Blackstock (20th minute) and Colton Swan (40th minute) to hold a 2-0 lead at the half. Miguel Berry (69th minute) and Jeremy Kelly (73rd minute) slammed the door shut on the Kickers in the second half to push the score to the final 4-0 result. Charleston returns to USLC action with a trip to the desert southwest to play New Mexico United on May 23. The Battery are back home at the Point on May 30 versus Detroit City at 6 PM.

Electric City Stuns SC Surf 2-1
Electric City picked up a huge 2-1 win over the SC Surf on the road last Sunday evening in the Lowcountry. Anthony Grudko and Jose Zamor scored for Electric to give them a three-game winning streak as they continue to be one of the hottest teams in UPSL Mid-Atlantic play. The Surf (18 points) have been in the top three in the table all season and are now just four points ahead of the charging Electric City (14 points) group. The top four teams make the playoffs and the race for spots 3 and 4 just took a major turn with this result. Electric plays away at Mint Hill (15 points) on Saturday, May 23 and the Surf hosts Soda on Sunday, May 24 in two matches that will have huge playoff implications.
Soda City UPSL Women Play to 2-2 Tie with Crew
The UPSL Women’s season opener for Soda City ended in a 2-2 draw versus the Carolina Crew FC Saturday afternoon in Irmo. Mia Reilly scored a brace for Soda to earn the point in the first contest this season. Soda’s WPSL also played on Saturday in a preseason friendly versus a second Carolina Crew team as Soda’s WPSL team ran out a 4-0 result. Soda plays their first road match of the season at the expansion Royal Cavaliers FC in Lancaster on Saturday, May 23 at 4 PM. The match will the first-ever contest for Royal Cavaliers.

Major UPSL Premier Matches On Tap for this Weekend
The top two teams in the UPSL Premier Mid-Atlantic South conference are in action this weekend as the regular season enters the final two weekends of play. The SC United Heat will host Charlotte SA on Saturday, May 23 while Soda City will travel to the SC Surf on Sunday, May 24. The Heat sits four points clear at the top of the table just ahead of Soda City. The Heat and Soda will play the spring season finale on May 31, but the Heat can wrap up the regular season title with a win or tie this coming weekend versus Charlotte
USMNT Over-40 Training Camp Coming to North Augusta
The US Men’s Senior National Team (Over 40) will be in North Augusta over Memorial Day weekend preparing for the upcoming Over 40 World Cup being held in Thailand in early June. The team camp will have 33 players from across the USA competing for one of the 25 World Cup roster spots all under the direction of Head Coach David Jones. The self-funded USMSNT will face England, Iran, and Taiwan in Group A action at the World Cup. The team will play two exhibition matches during the team camp in North Augusta with the final roster selections made at the conclusion of camp. On Saturday, May 23 the USMSNT will play the Fort Gordon Ballers FC at 7 PM and on Sunday, May 24 the USMSNT will play the UPSL Augusta Soccer Team at 4 PM. Both matches will be held at Lions Memorial Field in North Augusta and will be live streamed on YouTube by Amigo Sports Media.
