Triumph Wins In First 2 Matches at GE Verona Park

The Greenville Triumph successfully opened their new stadium GE Vernova Park with a 1-0 win over Forward Madison in USL League One action. Azaad Liadi scored the first goal in GE Vernova Park history in the 14th minute of the match to send the standing-room only, franchise record crowd of 4252 into a frenzy. The Triumph played some solid defense and goalkeeper Amal Knight made a couple of key saves to preserve the win. Greenville hosted Loudoun United a week later in Prinx Tires USL Cup action and ran out a 3-1 win to continue their strong start to matches at GE Vernova Park. W Akio, C Evans, and J Bouregy all scored for the Triumph in the win. Greenville is on the road at Westchester on June 14 before hosting AV Alta FC on June 20.



Battery and Hounds Play to Scoreless Draw

It was a 0-0 stalemate in Charleston as both teams couldn’t solve the opponent’s defense in USL Cup action last weekend. The Battery claimed the extra point by winning the shootout 4-2 and remain in first place in Group F with a 3-point cushion over Charlotte and Pittsburgh with two final group stage matches remaining. The Battery returned to USLC action playing out a 2-2 draw at the Tampa Bay Rowdies on June 10. The next match sees the Batter hosting FC Tulsa on June 13.

Bantams Blasts Port City, Ties Tobacco Road

Kemp Wilson scored a brace to lead the South Carolina United Bantams to a USL2 win over visiting Port City FC last Saturday night in Columbia. Bantam’s Henry Burt scored the other goal to secure the Bantam’s third win in a row moving their record to 3W-2L-0T. The team then played to a 3-3 draw versus Tobacco Road FC that saw several lead changes and the teams share the points in a wild one at the Monti. Oscar Kelly, Kemp Wilso, and Callum Stokes scored for the Bantams in the draw. The Bantams will host Hickory FC on June 13 at 7 PM in their next USL2 match.


Electric City Wins 4-1 Over Emory in UPSL Playoffs

It was an Anthony Grudko hat trick to lift Electric City over the visiting Emory FC at Old McCants Stadium last Saturday night in Anderson. Nico Ortiz added the fourth Electric goal who now travel to AC Raleigh in the UPSL conference quarterfinals on June 13.





Surf Defeat Pro-Finish Academy

Owen Sullivan bagged a brace as the Surf won their first-ever playoff game 2-1 over Pro-Finish Academy Sunday night in the Lowcountry. The Surf travel to Sporting Soccer Academy in Tennessee for the quarterfinals on June 13.


UPSL Mid-Atlantic Quartefinals Set

The SC United Heat and Soda City are set to join the USPL playoffs as both teams enter the postseason this coming weekend hosting matches. The Heat will host Mint Hill in Columbia while Soda City will travel to Pineville, North Carolina to host Gastonia FC due to Irmo HS no longer being available to host UPSL matches. Electric City will be on the road in North Carolina visiting AC Raleigh while the SC Surf will be in Tennessee playing Sporting Soccer Academy.


Soda City Women Drop Both WPSL Matches at NCFC

The Soda City WPSL dropped both matches last weekend in Raleigh 4-0 and 5-0 to the two NCFC WPSL teams. The losses drop the team 0W-4L-0T on the season. The ladies have been back at work in training this week and host NCFC Navy at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Matthews, NC on June 13 at 6 PM.


Soda City UPSL Earn 2-2 Draw on Road Against Carolina Crew

The Soda UPSL Women played to a 2-2 draw at Carolina Crew before fall 0-5 at Rush United on their recent road trip. Sarah Meggs and Jett Holcomb scored the Soda goals for the team that now holds a 0W-1L-3T mark this season. Soda hosts Rush at 3 PM at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Matthews, NC on June 13.
