MLS: San Jose Earthquakes sign Ousseni Bouda to new contract through 2027

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that they have signed forward Ousseni Bouda to a new contract through the 2027 season, with a club option for 2028.
“Bouda continues to grow as an attacking player,” said Earthquakes sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena. “He’s an excellent teammate and professional, and we look forward to his contributions over the next couple of years.”
Bouda, 25, has scored three goals and tallied one assist in league play this season. He is one of just three Quakes players to appear in all 18 MLS matches to date, including seven starts. His clutch second-half goal off the bench on May 28 lifted San Jose to their first win over archrival LA Galaxy since 2022, helping keep the club in playoff position.

I want to thank Bruce, his staff and the entire Earthquakes organization for believing in me and for the opportunity to continue playing for them and the best fans in Major League Soccer.”
The eighth overall pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft out of Stanford University, Bouda has appeared in 54 MLS matches (10 starts), recording five goals and one assist. He has also played in six Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches (five starts), scoring two goals. Across all competitions, Bouda has totaled seven goals and one assist in four seasons with San Jose.
A native of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and a graduate of the renowned Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, Bouda made his senior international debut for his home country in a 3-1 win over Eswatini on June 7, 2022. He also featured in Burkina Faso’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in 2023. To date, he has earned eight caps and scored two goals for Les Étalons.
