The National Soccer Network takes a look at all of the 2025 Georgia High School Association girls soccer state finals matches which will take place at three sites this week.

CLASS 6A

Buford (21-0-0) vs. Marietta Walton (19-2-0) May 15 at Powder Springs McEachern High School, 5 p.m.

Matchup:

Buford: A perfect season is on the line for Buford, which is 21-0-0 and has not lost since the tournament last season. The numbers are impressive, 14 shutouts, a 100-9 scoring edge, 4.77 goals-per-game and a 0.67 goals-against-average. The two-keeper duo of Natalie Dinh and Maci Stancil have been sterling while Mara Sheppard, Layla Washington, Izzy Skinner and Maci Stancil have all been key field players for the Wolves who are well-balanced and deep.

The Journey: Def. Atlanta Westlake (10-0); def. Canton Cherokee (7-0); def. Snellville Brookwood (2-1); def. Cumming West Forsythe (1-0). With three shutouts and only one goal conceded in the tournament, the Wolves are playing some impressive defense not to mention that they have put 20 goals into the net in four games. Can Buford complete an undefeated season with as win in the Class 6A finals?

Marietta Walton: With 19 wins, seven straight victories, a 80-8 scoring differential, a 28-2 edge on the scoring outburst in the tournament – and a chance to play the same school that knocked you out in the state semifinals last year…What else could the Raiders ask for? A storybook season could end with a state championship. This team has the talent up and down the lineup and with stars like Reagan Mulberry, Haidyn Jenkins, Maggie Esz, Brook Merlin, Haley Schultz and Lila Jailet, the Wolves are aiming for the stars.

The Journey: Def. Norman Park Colquitt County (11-0); def. Lawrenceville Mountain View (9-1); def. Kennesaw Mountain View (1-0); def. Suwanee Lambert (3-1). Another team that has had its way for most of the postseason, thanks to a 24-1 scoring edge and some great defense, the Raiders, 0-2 in state finals games dating back to 2013, are looking for some state glory this time around.

CLASS 5A

Roswell (21-0-0) vs. Newnan Northgate (20-2-0) May 16 at Duluth High School, 5 p.m.

Matchup:

Roswell: This team is ranked No 1 in Class 5A for most of the season and has even been in the top 25 nationally by the United Soccer Coaches, including a month at No. 1 for the 17 states that play girls soccer in the spring. A 108-07 scoring edge, 14 shutouts, and the fact that no team has been able to score more than one goal on the Hornets this season bodes well for this confident squad playing at a high level. Roswell has a 0.34 goals-against-average while averaging 5.15 goals-per-game. That doesn’t tell the whole story as this roster is stacked from top to bottom with four NCAA Division I signees, including players that are headed to North Carolina and Clemson. The Hornets were state champions in Class 6A in 2023 and the state runner-up last season to Atlanta Marist. Will this be a perfect season capped by a state crown for Roswell? Seniors Camie Maynor, Evin Erickson, Natalie Brooks, Rachel Phifer, Lilli Suarez, Sophie Brady and Ryan Churchill would love to end their high school careers with the state title and doing so as one of the nation’s best teams. Perfection is one win away.

The Journey: Def. Sandy Springs Riverwood (3-1); def. Atlanta Lakeside (10-0); def. Mt. Airy Habersham Central (4-1); def. Marietta Pope (3-1). A 20-3 scoring edge in the tournament, but the last game was against fellow state-ranked Marietta Pope.

Newnan Northgate: The Vikings, like many other of the state finalists, have put up some impressive numbers this season. A total of 20 wins, a 139-9 scoring edge and 15 shutouts. And the Vikings may not be the favorite here. This could be a classic, epic battle in the Class 5A finals. But one team will head home without a title. Northgate does have the talent to spring an upset and have definitely fielded a top-tier team that could not only win this game but could win any of the state’s eight finals. The Vikings also have some college-level talent on their roster.

The Journey: Def. Decatur (4-0); def. Woodstock River Ridge (3-0); Def. Logansville (5-1); def. Evans Greenbrier (3-1).The Vikings have soared through the postseason with a 15-2 scoring edge with two shutouts but will face their biggest test of the season against nationally-ranked Roswell on tap Friday night.

CLASS 4A

Roswell Blessed Trinity (18-1-0) vs. Atlanta Marist (18-3-0) May 15 at Duluth High School, 5 p.m.

Roswell Blessed Trinity: One of two high schools from Roswell playing in the state finals, the Vikings are another strong defensive team that has also overpowered opponents offensively. The once-beaten Titans are riding a 10-game win streak where eight of their last 10 games ending in shutouts. Blessed Trinity has 14 shutouts and has outscored its opposition 77-7 with a team 0.37 goals-against-average.

The Journey: Def. Cartersville (4-0); def. Hamilton Harris County (4-0); def. Atlanta St. Pius X Catholic (2-1); def. Acworth Allatoona (2-0).

Atlanta Marist: With 11 state titles dating back to the first title in 1997 along with a host of other deep tournament runs, Marist is one of the most successful programs in Georgia history. The War Eagles own recent titles in 2022 and 2024 and have been dominant at times again this season. The War Eagles have outscored their foes 123-13 this season with 11 shutouts and have only been blanked one time this season. Goalkeeper Emily Tran and backs Olivia Brooks and Grace Lin have anchored the defense while Caroline Russo and Ava McAllister are part of that offensive unit where legions of players have been capable of finishing opportunities. This team is riding a 12-game win streak with 18 total wins this season and is trying to win a state-leading 12th state championship. The program is making its fourth straight title game appearance and also won titles in 2022 and 2024 while finishing second to Roswell in 2023.

The Journey: Def. Jesup Wayne County (9-0); Covington Eastside (10-0); def. Fayetteville Starr’s Mill (4-1); def. Milton Cambridge (2-0). The War Eagles finally had a test in the semifinals with the 2-0 win. Other than that, no tourney games have been close. Overall, Marist has a 25-1 scoring edge and three clean sheets in its run to its fourth straight state title game.

CLASS 3A

Jefferson (17-3-0) vs. Watkinsville Oconee County (16-6-0) May 14 at Powder Springs McEachern High School, 5 p.m.

Jefferson: Offense is the name of the game for a lot of state finalists and the Dragons belong in that group. Jefferson has outscored its opposition 91-8 and has also got the job done defensively with 15 shutouts, one of the highest totals in the state. Lily Garay Cross, Gabby Granett, Mia Smith and Liv Siebers lead the offensive charge while Arielle Vermillion and Kate Robertson help anchor the stingy defense which has posted a fine 0.40 goals-against-average.

The Journey: Def. Gainesville East Hill (8-0); Dahlonega Lumpkin County (7-0); Dawsonville Dawson County (9-0); def. Flowery Branch Cherokee Bluff (5-2). With a 29-2 scoring edge in the postseason, Jefferson has flexed some muscle and the only two goals conceded in the tournament came in a 5-2 win in the state semifinals in a game where the Dragons never trailed.

Watkinsville Oconee County: State champions in 2023 and 2024, the Warriors are going after a three-peat with a deep and talented team. Oconee County has a 101-17 scoring punch and 11 shutouts which showcases that this team can lock down opposing offenses as well. The Warriors have experience, talent and standouts all over the pitch. Emma Moore and Lily Johnson are two of the offensive talents while center back Ava Richardson and goalkeeper Claire Thomas have aided the defensive effort.

The Journey: Def. Gainesville Johnson (4-0); def. Harlem (8-0); def. Tyrone Sandy Creek (9-1); def. Fayetteville Whitewater (3-1). With 24 goals and only two goals conceded in the tournament, the Warriors are getting the job done when it matters most.

CLASS 2A

Zebulon Pike County (21-2-0) vs. Savannah Arts Academy (19-2-0) May 16 at Mercer University (Macon), 5 p.m.

Matchup:

Zebulon Pike County: The state’s top offensive team has outscored its foes 158-10 this season, which equates to 6.87 goals-per-game while posting a sterling 0.44 goals-against-average defensively. Olivia Park (18 goals, 31 assists), Sophie Moss (20 goals, 12 assists), Jacey Fillingham (22 goals, 17 assists), Anna Rboerts (23 goals, 24 assists) and Piper Jones (14 goals, eight assists) have been key cogs in that offensive machine. Goalkeeper Morgan Wakeman has a 0.40 GAA individually. Overall, Pike County is humming along with a 12-game win streak in tow. Can Savannah Arts slow the Pirates down for two hours? Pike County only has two losses, both coming back in February and March and both came in shootouts. The team has not lost since March 21, but its response is a 97-6 scoring binge during a 12-game win streak.

The Journey: Def. Baxley Appling County (1-0); def. Toccoa Stephens County (8-2); def. Calhoun Sonorville (8-1); def. Dalton Coahulla Creek (6-0). Explosive on the offensive end in the regular season, Pike County has outscored the opposition 32-3 this postseason.

Savannah Arts Academy: With 19 total wins and the momentum of a six-game win streak, the Panthers are a quality team in their own right. Savannah Arts owns a 147-15 scoring edge and 15 shutouts defensively and could be a mirror to Pike County. Jordan Gunn has 39 goals this season to lead the attack, with Amelia Reci, Ava Thomas, Brooklyn Livingston, Amelia Tyrdy and Angelina Oetting have compiled high numbers. Elena Laygo and Maxx Grant lead the goalkeepers and Kate Brunson helps anchor the back line.

The Journey: Def. Columbus Hardaway (10-0); def. Atlanta Therrell (10-0); def. Blackshear Pierce County (1-0); def. Madison Morgan County (3-2). The Panthers have continued their scoring binge with a 24-2 differential and three clean sheets in four tournament games.

CLASS A-DIVISION I

Bremen (19-3-0) vs. Rome Model School (17-1-0) May 13 at Powder Springs McEachern High School, 5 p.m.

Matchup:

Bremen: Overall, Bremen has put up some gaudy numbers as the Blue Devils chase an elusive state title. Bremen owns a 108-19 scoring edge while averaging 4.91 goals-per-game and posting a 0.87 goals-against-average. This team carries a 12-game win streak into the finals. Darlene Sheets has been one of those threats up top, scoring twice in the state semifinals, while Bella Fields and Riley Foster have also been quality targets. Payton Mobley has been a steady presence in goal.

The Journey: Def. Decatur Towers (11-1); def. Elberton Elbert County (9-0); def. Barnesville Lamar County (5-1); def. Social Circle (4-0). This tournament run has been brilliant for the Blue Devils, as this team has a 29-2 scoring burst and two shutouts to reach the state finals.

Rome Model School: Behind a 77-8 scoring edge this season, Rome Model has become a difficult team to score upon this season while they are quite capable of running the score up against many teams. Molly Allmon is a threat up top and Maddie Green has been solid in net.

The Journey: Def. Commerce (10-0); def. Swainsboro (12-0); def. Thomasville (2-0); def. Macon Ace (1-0). The Blue Devils had no resistance in their first two postseason games, while they had to win a pair of close matches to reach the finals. CLASS A-DIVISION II

Atlanta Classical Academy (13-5-0) vs. Greensboro Lake Oconee Academy (12-6-0) May 15 at Mercer University (Macon), 5 p.m.

Matchup:

Atlanta Classical Academy: Riding a five-game win streak, Atlanta Classical has only outscored the opposition 65-32 over 18 games and looks to score goals by committee. Freshman Maury Akers is a quality backstop who has helped record seven shutouts.

The Journey: Def. Hiawassee Towns County (5-2); def. Roberta Crawford County (10-0); def. Sylvania Screven County (2-1); def. Ocilla Irwin County (3-2). With a 20-5 scoring edge over four tournament games, Atlanta Classical has played some quality soccer when it matters most.

Senior Darby Boran (M), senior Kate Walker (D), sophomore Addison Kelly (G) and freshman Maddie Cross (F) are some of the key cornerstones to this run to the state finals.

The Journey: Def. Mt. Zion (7-0); Portal (5-1); Trion (1-0). The Titans have played just three postseason games, receiving a first-round bye and have outscored the opposition 13-1 in the tourney, although the semifinals victory was a nailbiter.

Greater Atlanta Christian is also on a four-game win streak. Riley Pace is a quality goalkeeper and Cydney Pace and Marge Pritchard lead a vaunted attack. On defense, Kelsey Wood, Caitlyn Sim, Kennedy Conner and Neve Phillip have been sterling, conceding no goals in the tournament and only 13 goals allowed in 22 matches.
