DEARBORN, Mich. — Coming off a 13-8-1 season and a District championship, Dearborn Divine Child returns a proven core intent on pushing back to Regionals in MHSAA Division 2. The Falcons finished 6-4 (3rd) in the Catholic High School League AA Division and fell 2–1 to eventual state champion De La Salle in the Regional Final.
2024 Snapshot
Record: 13-8-1
League: CHSL AA — 6-4 (3rd)
Postseason: District champions; lost 2–1 to De La Salle in Regional Final
2025 Outlook
Divine Child graduated 11 seniors, so early chemistry will be the focus. Even so, the Falcons like their ceiling thanks to an all-state headliner, a balanced spine, and young talent ready to step in. The target: contend in the CHSL AA and return to Regionals.
Key Returners
Luciano Thomson, Sr., M/F — 2024 First Team All-State; primary creator and match-winner.
Evan Scirri, Jr., F — 2024 Third Team All-State; vertical threat and finisher.
Griffin Teems, Sr., D — 2024 All-State HM; anchors the back line.
Luca Ciavaglia, Sr., MID — Possession hub and set-piece option.
Braeden Davis, Sr., GK — Veteran presence in goal.
What to Watch
Replacing experience: Integrating new starters after a large graduating class.
Set-piece edge: Thomson/Ciavaglia delivery plus Teems’ aerial presence.
Finishing touches: Converting margins in tight CHSL and postseason games.
Bottom Line
With Thomson leading the attack and a sturdy core around Scirri, Teems, Ciavaglia, and Davis, Divine Child has the pieces to challenge in league play and make another deep October push—even as new faces settle into key roles.
