DETROIT — On December 18, Detroit City FC announced the signing of forward Alex Dalou, securing the West Bloomfield native to a contract that runs through the 2026 season, with a club option for 2027. Dalou will wear No. 15 for Le Rouge, pending league and federation approval.

Dalou joins Detroit City FC after spending the past two seasons with FC Tulsa in the USL Championship’s Western Conference. He originally joined Tulsa following a successful trial and made an immediate impact, recording an assist in his second appearance. Dalou made 25 appearances during the 2024 season, earning a contract extension for 2025.

During the 2025 campaign, Dalou became a regular contributor for Tulsa, appearing in 37 matches across all competitions. He logged 2,036 minutes, totaling four goals and four assists, including an assist on the final goal in Tulsa’s 3–0 victory in the Western Conference Final.

Prior to his time in the USL Championship, Dalou competed in NISA during the 2023 season, splitting time between Gold Star FC Detroit and Albion San Diego. With Gold Star, he recorded two goals and one assist in 10 matches, including a full 90-minute appearance against Detroit City FC at Keyworth Stadium in the U.S. Open Cup. He later added two goals and one assist in nine matches with Albion San Diego.

Dalou began his soccer journey with Michigan Jaguars FC, where he played from ages 8 to 18, before continuing his career at Schoolcraft College. In his freshman season in 2018, he tallied eight goals and 12 assists in 13 matches, earning First Team All-MCCAA honors, NJCAA Division III All-Region recognition, and was named MCCAA Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

Dalou now returns home as Detroit City FC adds attacking depth heading into the upcoming seasons.
