HANOVER, N.H. — As the final seconds ticked off the clock on Sunday, Dartmouth’s bench stormed the field and met at midfield in celebration — the Big Green had just made program history.
With a 1–0 victory over Princeton, Dartmouth captured its first-ever Ivy League Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship, clinching an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament — the program’s first appearance since 2005.

The Big Green also broke several long-standing streaks, earning their first win over Princeton since 2013 and their first road win against the Tigers since 2006.
“This feels surreal,” said Head Coach Taylor Schram, the Stacy Branca ’94 Head Coach of Women’s Soccer. “They do it for each other, and they do it for the Dartmouth women’s soccer legacy. I’m so proud that the 2025 team gets to add to that history.”
Lathrop’s Heroics Seal the Championship
The Ivy League rivals played evenly through the first half, each managing only two shots on goal. But in the 63rd minute, sophomore forward Stephanie Lathrop delivered once again — converting a penalty kick into the bottom-right corner for the game-winner, just as she had in the semifinal against Columbia.
“I’ve been praying about that goal,” Lathrop said. “Hailey [Rorick] earned the foul, and I just knew it was going in. It’s all about teamwork — we’ve worked so hard for this.”
Lathrop’s ninth goal of the season — and second of the tournament — earned her Most Outstanding Player honors.
Recognition Across the Roster
Goalkeeper Ola Goebel, midfielder Anna Leschly, and forward Lourdes Lauterborn were all named to the All-Tournament Team for their standout performances.
“Steph’s been a superstar on and off the field,” Schram added. “It’s not easy to transfer in and adapt to a new culture, but she made it look easy. Her teammates love her, and she’s been a massive part of our success.”
What’s Next
With all 30 automatic qualifiers now set, Dartmouth will learn its NCAA Tournament matchup during the Selection Show on Monday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. ET, streamed live at NCAA.com.
