Central Louisiana FC has won the Gulf Coast League Two Championship for the second year in a row. The league grew from eight teams last season to twelve teams this season, and is an integral part of the thriving Gulf Coast region that features a partnership between the Gulf Coast Premier League and The League for Clubs (men's) and the WPSL (women's). The Championship game was a rematch of last season's game that saw Central Louisiana defeat BRSC Capitals 2-1, but the venue was flipped for this year's version.
The 2025 edition came down to wire, but this year's match was dominated by Central Louisiana. With home field advantage and a sizeable crowd on hand, CenLA applied pressure up front and took an early lead. In the 17th minute, Tony Rivas found a loose ball in the box and put it into the back of the net. Baton Rouge would try to get back in it, but open flow of the game saw Central get a second goal before half time. Midfielder Mnqobi Mbili drove down the right side and sent a cross in to striker Chaz Badeaux, who slotted the ball home. It was nothing new for Badeaux, as he scored the opening goal in last year's Championship game as well.
With a 2-0 lead in hand, Central Louisiana was able to lean on their defense to see the game out and keep the Capitals from breaking through. Baton Rouge had another great season, but returns home disappointed for the second year in a row. The Central defense finishes with just six goals allowed on the season, leading to an unbeaten and untied run. George McKenzie was named Man of the Match for Central Louisiana.
