PAUL, Minn. — CJ Fodrey’s goal in the 120th minute lifted Austin FC to a 2–1 extra-time win over Minnesota United on Wednesday at Allianz Field, sending the Verde & Black to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final for the first time in club history. How it happenedAustin struck first in first-half stoppage time when Osman Bukari finished a move started by Owen Wolff, capping a cagey opening 45 minutes. Minnesota answered on Joaquín Pereyra’s 68th-minute free kick, setting up a tense finish that stretched to extra time. With penalties looming, Fodrey pounced on a rebound after Myrto Uzuni’s header was parried, burying the winner at the death.
