Allendale Aims to Defend Conference Crown with New-Look Squad

ALLENDALE, Mich. — After a historic 20-2 campaign in 2024 that saw Allendale High School claim the River City Alliance title and reach the Division 2 Regional Final before falling 1-0 to Grand Rapids Christian, the Falcons enter the 2025 season with high expectations despite significant roster turnover.

The program graduated eight seniors and lost two standout players to MLS NEXT Pro opportunities, leaving just one returning starter. That lone returner, midfielder Kolby Malott, will be the anchor of the squad. Malott, a Second Team All-State selection, is recognized as one of the top players in Michigan and will carry much of the leadership load for the young team.

Rebuilding with Talent

Head Coach Mike Chojnacki remains optimistic, citing a strong influx of talent across all positions. The Falcons are especially promising in the attack, where technical ability and creativity should make them an exciting group to watch. Defensively, the squad is young but expected to grow stronger as the season progresses.

With Malott leading a young but hungry squad, the Falcons are confident they’ll once again be one of the most exciting teams in West Michigan.

“We may be young, but we’re very talented and fun to watch. Our goal is to defend our conference title and push deep into the playoffs again,” said Chojnacki.
