ACC Sends Three to Women’s College Cup for Fourth Straight Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the fourth straight year, the Atlantic Coast Conference will send multiple teams to the Women’s College Cup, as Duke, Florida State and Stanford secured semifinal berths with quarterfinal wins Friday, Nov. 28.
ACC programs outscored opponents 12–2 in the quarterfinal round, highlighted by No. 2 Duke’s 3–0 shutout of No. 4 Washington. Top-seeded Stanford rolled past No. 2 Michigan State, 5–1, while No. 3 Florida State handled Ohio State, 4–1.
This year marks the 16th time in the 44-year history of the event that the ACC has placed multiple teams in the Women’s College Cup. With Friday’s results, 65 ACC teams have now reached the national semifinals, while the league’s current membership has made 93 combined appearances. The final semifinal spot will be decided Saturday, Nov. 29, when No. 1 Vanderbilt hosts No. 2 TCU.
Stanford and Duke will meet in the national semifinals, guaranteeing the ACC a spot in the national championship match for the eighth consecutive season. The ACC owns 26 NCAA titles historically, while current member institutions have combined for 32. Florida State (2023) and North Carolina (2024) have won the last two national championships.
The 44th Women’s College Cup is scheduled for Dec. 5 and 8 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, hosted by the University of Kansas and the Kansas City Sports Commission. The first semifinal kicks off at 6 p.m. ET Friday, Dec. 5, live on ESPNU, with the second match following at approximately 8:45 p.m. ET. The national championship is set for 7 p.m. ET Monday, Dec. 8, also on ESPNU.
