WPSL: Chattanooga FC keeps rival Nashville out of 'Rhythm' in Southeastern Conference finals

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga FC defeated longtime rivals Nashville Rhythm 1-0 at Finley Stadium on Thursday evening to capture the WPSL Southeast Conference championship.
A 79th-minute header from forward Ella Grace Dillard (University of Tennessee-Chattanooga) proved to be the game’s only goal and it helped the side advance to the South Region semifinals and Round of 16 of the 2025 WPSL national tournament.
Chattanooga FC (6-1-1) outshot Nashville (5-2-1) 11-5 in the contest and picked up the late goal to win the Southeast Conference title and remain alive in the postseason.
Amy Neal set up the game winner by racing down the right side before roping a perfect cross into the box where Dillard was waiting to redirect the ball into the back of the net.
Maddie Smith recorded the shutout for Chattanooga FC, which now owns an 18-5 scoring edge this season. It was Smith’s fourth clean sheet of the campaign.
Chattanooga FC advances to the South Region semifinals on Jul 12 where the side will face Arlington Soccer Blue (4-3-1) at 5 p.m. at the Revolution Sportsplex in Leesburg, Virginia.
