SHELBY TWP., Mich. – Union FC Macomb is bringing Morgan Roy home.

The Michigan, native, signed this past week to play in the USL W League with league newcomer Union FC Macomb, pending league and federation approval.

Roy, who is finishing up her sophomore year of classes at the University of Notre Dame of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), was one of 24 players called up in late March for the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team training camp which was held from March 31-April 7 at the Kansas City Current’s University of Kansas Health System Training Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Last fall as a sophomore, Roy helped Notre Dame to a 14-4-4 overall record and a No. 6 seed in a loaded ACC tournament. The Irish also qualified for the NCAA Division I Tournament and finished 3-1 with an appearance in the national quarterfinals.

Over two seasons with the Fighting Irish, she appeared in all 42 games and made 38 starts for a team that posted a combined 26-8-8 overall record.

As a youth player growing up in Oakland County, Mich., Roy competed for Nationals Soccer Club’s Girls Academy team. She helped Nationals win the 2020-21 Girls Academy National Championship while in 2022 also won a Super Y National title as well.

She was home-schooled for a few years before attending Clarkston High School as a senior. She was a top 100 recruit as a youth player based on numerous recruiting services. Roy comes from a long family line of standout soccer players.
