USL LEAGUE TWO: Flint City Bucks blank Kalamazoo FC to remain unbeaten; Oakland County trips up AFC Ann Arbor

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The season is barely a week old for the Flint City Bucks, and the club already has a pair of shutouts.
The Bucks made Kalamazoo FC its latest victim on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over the hosts at Mayor's Riverfront Park and Complex in a Central Conference-Great Lakes Division matchup.
The two-time defending Great Lakes Division champions – which have finished first or second place in the GLD in nine of the last 11 years – picked up a second-half goal from Ashton Kamdem for the game’s only tally. His goal came in the 56th minute.
Jakub Grzesiak recorded his second straight shutout on six saves, as he also gained a clean sheet last Wednesday in a 4-0 win over Oakland County FC.
The Bucks, who finished 10-1-3 in the division last season with a 39-16 scoring edge and three shutouts, will host Union FC Macomb May 31 at 7 p.m. at Atwood Stadium. Union handed the Bucks their sole league loss last season.
OAKLAND COUNTY FC 3, AFC ANN ARBOR 1: Oakland County built up a 3-0 lead before letting in a late goal in recording this Central Conference-Great Lakes Division road win at Ann Arbor Pioneer Hollway Field.
Michael Melaragni (28th) had a single goal and Braden Stevanovic followed with two second half goals (60th and 73rd minutes) to lead Oakland County (2-1-0). Finn Jurak earned the win in goal for OCFC, which moved into second place in the eight-team division.
Josh Lucas scored in the 78th minute for Ann Arbor AFC but the side couldn't complete a comeback. (2-1-1) which is now in third place in the division.
