PITTSBURGH (Feb. 18, 2026) — Trevor Amann scored twice to lead the Pittsburgh Riverhounds to a 2-1 preseason victory over Duquesne University on Tuesday night at Highmark Stadium.

Facing their first collegiate opponent of the preseason, the Hounds improved to 4-0-0 in exhibition play. Despite the win, Pittsburgh was tested throughout the match, as Cody Da accounted for Duquesne’s lone goal.

Amann opened the scoring in the 19th minute after the Hounds won possession in the attacking half. Brigham Larsen delivered a well-timed pass down the right flank, sending Amann into the box. The forward finished with a low strike that slipped under the diving goalkeeper to give Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead.

Duquesne responded with sustained pressure and found the equalizer in the 35th minute. Ashwin Menon received a switch of play on the right side and delivered a low cross from the left that traveled across the face of goal to Da, who finished at the back post to level the match at 1-1 heading into halftime.

Head coach Rob Vincent made fewer changes than in previous preseason contests, looking to extend his players’ minutes as they build toward full-match fitness. The continuity paid off in the 54th minute when Amann struck again. A cross from the right by a trialist found Amann in the box, and he rose to head home his second goal of the night — and team-leading third of the preseason.

Pittsburgh nearly added a third in the 67th minute when Warren Agostoni reached the end line and cut the ball back for Larsen, but a point-blank save kept the Dukes within one.

The Hounds introduced a fresh group of players for the final 20 minutes, including Albert Dikwa, Danny Griffin, and Beto Ydrach. Duquesne’s goalkeeper came up with one final save on the last touch of the match, denying Eliot Goldthorp’s 18-yard effort to preserve the 2-1 scoreline.

What’s Next?

The Hounds return to Highmark Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosting Western Conference opponent Lexington SC at noon. The two sides have yet to meet in a competitive match but played to a 0-0 preseason draw in Kentucky last season.

Scoring Summary

PIT — Trevor Amann 19’ (Brigham Larsen)

DUQ — Cody Da 35’ (Ashwin Menon)

PIT — Trevor Amann 54’ (Trialist)
